I was looking at the Public Library website to see what activities they have for the little ones. They have something called Family Storytime. They read stories, sing songs and do crafts, and the parents are included.
Have you done anything like this? Is it pretty nice?
Do you think this is a good idea? I thought it would be something fun together, and it really doesn't cost any money. They supply all the stuff for the crafts, etc. What do you think?!
Do you think she's old enough for something like this? She's two!

My baby's only 6 months and we go to baby story time at the library. The librarian reads a book and then we sing songs. It's a nice way to meet other moms in your area, and for your kid to be around other kids--especially for a SAHM in a new city like me!!

Ours has one that's in the evening. I forget what it's called...Bedtime Storytime or Pajamtime Stories or something like that. It's for the families and they encourage kids to bring their pillows/blankets and wear jammies, they have dim lights. It's on a thursday evening. It's the ONLY library time that we've gone to yet that's semi-enjoyable with our girls! Daytime storytime (even the family one) with a craft has just been too chaotic for us!

They have the Pajama storytime here too, but they said it's for ages 4 to 8 or something, so I didn't think Lilliana would be old enough for it.
The Toddler storytimes are all during the day. I work, so that isn't possible.
Thanks ladies!

That stinks! Ours is totally a family affair, and in an adjoining room they have it going on in Spanish because we have a huge population of migrant workers around here. My girls like to hang out in that room because it's "like Diego in there"-they recognize some of the words and just enjoy the kids in there better I think.

Sounds like a great idea! The crafts will probably be really simple. This story hour I take M to sometimes often has kids glue cottonballs on pictures with a gluestick (make snowman, snowflake, or fill in some other type of picture). I'd definitely try out the library time and see how it goes!

I just found that Barnes and Nobles does storytime too, but on Fridays. That would work much better for me because it's in the morning! Has anyone been at a BN one?

I think she'd have a blast! I really need to see if our local library has something like that for A & O.
