I was wondering that if you have bf your 1st child for over a year then you get pg and have baby #2 do your nipples still have to go thru the whole hardening process again or are they still tough from baby #1. We have been talking seriously about TTC before the end of this year and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to go thru all that pain again. Please a BTDT mom tell me I'll be lucky like I think I will :winks:

I can not speak for everyone but I was sore with each child I BF. Sorry! I however wasn't as sore but it was still there.

I only nursed my first for 8 months until I found out I was pregnant, but with this one I am just as sore. Sorry, to be optimistic ~ maybe you'll get lucky!

I did not get sore nipples the first time, but had some pain with the second. I think it was because my son had a better latch initially, but the latch pain went away after a week or so when she got better. The engorgement pain was much less though than the first time. I think it was just because I had experienced it before.

The pain was till there for me. Either the same or worse. I really don't remember how bad it was with my first breast feeder or how long it lasted. They are 3 yrs apart.
