Membranes- how often to replace

Do you replace the membranes every so often, or do you wait until the pump isn't working as well to replace? About how often? I have the PISA.

I am interested in the responses. I have been nursing/pumping for 7+ months and have not replaced the membranes (or anything else for that matter). I haven't noticed any decrease in output though.

I only replace them if I absolutly need to. I think that's only been once. And it was only because they got messed up.

Oh yea, and I've had it for over 3 yrs now.

Good question. I just clean mine in a steam/sterlizer bag. Not sure about replacement. DOes the website say anything?
