View Full Version : OMFG the last 24 hours...

Yesterday was Eric's birthday. So it only figures that Lorelai should wake up crying with a snotty nose. She refused to get dressed, but cried when we said "fine, stay in your underwear." She refused to get dressed for about 4 hours. After about an hour of trying to convince Eric we HAD to go out to lunch (I didn't get him a gift since he bought that grill for himself and I wanted him to have something special) he finally agreed and we went to Outback were he had the most disappointing lunch ever, not to mention that now Griffin has a snotty nose and will not stop fussing (we almost had to leave). Then I insisted on ordering the carrot cake (which I thought was delicious, but it had a lot of coconut, which Eric hates) and I ended up getting sick from all the frosting. We got home and the kids refused to nap (which means no nooner for the birthday boy). Eric starts to get a sore throat. We go next door to eat dinner and watch the game, Lorelai throws a tantrum and won't eat. We come home and put the kids down and Griffin refuses to sleep. Eric had to get up super early to compete in this challenge this morning (2 mile ruckmarch with 25 lb, 3 mile run, 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups randomly thrown throughout) and Griffin was literally waking up every 20-30 minutes SCREAMING. We tried to give him some medicine and he spit purple goo all over me, all over Eric, all over our bed... after about 3 hours of this, Eric took his pillow out and slept on the loveseat. Yup. A six foot man sleeping on a loveseat. You can imagine how his night was. Not to mention that there was no lovin' going on because I was busy getting covered in snot and drool. He did okay for the challenge this morning, but gets the test results from a test today and, after the last 24 hours, does not feel good about it. If he didn't pass, our moving date will get pushed back AGAIN. I seriously hope today gets better because I might rip my hair out.

:hugs: Gotta love the world of toddlers! I think Eric will survive. It's not like he's 7yo and accusing you of hating him for ruining his b-day. He knows you love him and will make it up to him when you can.

Did his test results come back good? I know how the Army is and read DH your post-he said he could not imagine going through all of that with a challenge the following morning.

Yeah, he passed! He actually did pretty well. As for the run, he'd only say "yeah, I finished." Eric is Mr. Athletic, so who knows.

Wow mama... that does suck rocks. I'm sorry you had such a crappy 24. HOpe you and your babies are all feeling better soon.

I'm sure Eric will gladly take a belated nooner when the kids are better and napping. :winks:
